What is the Rachio 3 and how do I use it? 

The Rachio 3 is a step up from the previous Generation 2 version. The controller creates a watering schedule, and the mobile app lets you manage the system from anywhere. 

The Rachio sprinkler controller is compatible with almost any irrigation system, so you can use your existing pipes and sprinkler heads. A great thing about the Rachio 3 is that no digging or plumbing is required, and can be installed in less than 30 minutes.   

Once the Rachio 3 is installed, you’ll need to connect the controller to your home wifi, and then download the web or mobile app (available for Android and iOS) onto your phone to set the system up. 

The Rachio 3 is also compatible with smart speakers including Alexa and Google Assistant.

The Flex Monthly updates every month to adapt for seasonal changes. The Fixed schedule allows for custom watering schedules based on time, duration and days of the week. There is also the option of Weather Intelligence settings such as Wind and Freeze, which delays the watering when it’s too windy or frosty.

The device is fitted with Premium Weather Intelligence Plus technology, which gathers weather data from over 300,000 weather stations, satellites and radar sources to present the most accurate watering schedule for your area.
